From film, media, stage to the House and Ballroom Scene - artists have used their creative mediums to create community, families and revolutions while creating a positive impact in the community. This Track will bring together artist whose art speaks to the power of now and urgent need for action.
Alexis Mateo began his drag career in Puerto Rico's gay nightclub circuit before relocating in 2001 to Orlando, Florida, where he worked as a dancer and performer at Disney World.In addition to his drag career, which began in 2006, he is a fashion designer and has won the 2001 Inter Fashion Award for Best Fashion Designer.
While residing in Central Florida, he won many gay pageants including Miss Florida US of A, Miss Florida Latina, Miss Orlando, Miss Central Florida, Miss Lakeland, Miss Waterside, Miss Suncoast, Miss Suncoast America, Miss ASAP, Miss Lakeland America, Miss Orlando Latina, Miss Florida International and Sunshine State All American Goddess.
Cynthia Lee Fontaine is the stage name of Carlos Díaz Hernández, a Puerto Rican drag performer and reality television personality from Austin, Texas, best known for competing on the eighth and ninth seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. Mayhem Miller is the stage name of Dequan Johnson, an American Drag Performer and actor, best known for competing on the 10th of RuPaul's Drag Race and the 5th of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.
She got the drag name "Mayhem Miller" from Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson's sex tape. She started doing drag in 2002, the same year as fellow Drag Race alumna Raven and the year after Morgan McMichaels, whom Johnson worked with before Drag Race. Johnson's other drag colleagues are alum Detox and Delta Work. She auditioned for Drag Race every year beginning with season two.
Monica Dejesus-Anaya known by the stage persona Monica Beverly Hillz, is an American drag queen, reality television personality, and transgender activist, originally known for appearing on season 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race. She was the third contestant to come out as a transgender woman on the show, after Sonique in season 2 and Carmen Carrera in season 3, which was historic as it was a first for network television.In 2014, she was selected as one of the Windy City Times "30 Under 30" for the "best LGBTQIA activism, business, culture, non-profit work and more" as well as Bustle naming her one of the "most popular" RPDR alum. In 2015, she performed at the MTV Video Music Awards with Miley Cyrus for her live performance of "Dooo It!", along with other well-known drag queens and RPDR alum.
